Outdoor Living Pack

Decks, pergolas, paving and gardens, done right.

Outdoor projects often combine a carpenter, a concreter or paver, a landscaper, an electrician and a plumber. Levels, drainage and approvals tie their work together — and the joins between trades are where things go wrong.

The Outdoor Living Pack helps you write one brief for every contractor, compare quotes side by side, check approvals early, agree levels and drainage in writing, check each stage before it’s covered, and keep a care schedule at the end.

It doesn’t manage your project or replace professional advice. Instead, it helps you become more organised, more prepared and clearer about what to ask, compare and clarify at each step.

What's included — seven practical tools plus a Start Here guide, designed to work together

• 00 · Start Here: Outdoor Living Pathway — Understand the Outdoor Living Pack, where to begin, and how the tools work together.
• 01 · Outdoor Brief and Site Worksheet — Describe what you want and what you know about the site, so every contractor quotes the same thing.
• 02 · Outdoor Quote Comparison Workbook — Compare quotes for each part of the work on the same basis, and turn gaps into questions.
• 03 · Approvals, Setbacks and Rules Check — Find out early what approvals and rules apply to your outdoor project.
• 04 · Levels, Drainage and Materials Schedule — Agree levels, falls, drainage and every material and finish before work starts.
• 05 · Outdoor Allowance and Variation Log — Track allowances, changes and delays, with cost, time and written approval.
• 06 · Stage Check and Defects Record — Check work before it’s covered, and track defects and incomplete items to close.
• 07 · Handover, Care and Warranties Checklist — Collect certificates and warranties, and set up a simple care schedule.
